Lingyuan Yan is a senior at the Hill School for the 2026-2027 school year. He has been actively involved in the community and has volunteered with the Little Masters Club since 8 years old- raising money for a dog shelter, visiting nursing homes, teaching younger kids and more recently, working with Heritage & Me to bring the contributions of the Chinese American community to light. He is also an active participant at school as a boarding prefect and the leader of several clubs including student-led volunteer organization. Heritage & Me's work this summer is especially important to him because as the students interviewed multiple elected government officials, Lingyuan was inspired by their passion to help the community. Before taking office, many were already active in their community through volunteering or non-profit organizations. There are so many ways to give back to the community, and Lingyuan hopes Heritage & Me will inspire other students to do so as well.
