The LMC Heritage & Me Program proudly presents the Seasons of Mind – 24 Solar Terms Arts & Wellness series in 2026, composed of four seasonal cultural fairs around the year. This bilingual, cross-cultural art therapy project connects Chinese seasonal wisdom with global wellness practices and is funded by the City of Bellevue’s Cross-Cultural Center Without Walls.
Through four seasonal events inspired by the Chinese 24 Solar Terms, children, youth, and families of all backgrounds will come together to create eco-friendly, nature-inspired artworks. The program also promotes strong parent-child relationships and raises awareness of youth mental health.
We aim to foster intergenerational and intercultural learning, support emotional well-being, and build a strong sense of community through family collaborative creativity.
At the Spring Cultural Fair hosted on March 28th at Jing Mei Elementary, families enjoyed:
- Story-telling: Beginning of Spring, Rain Water, Awakening of Insects, Spring Equinox, Clear & Bright, and Grain Rain of the 24 Solar Terms
- Live performance: traditional Chinese dance, martial arts, tea ceremony, Guzheng, poetry, and live band
- Activity Stations: archery, tea ceremony, family-bonding painting
- Hands-On Crafts Stations: kite, Chinese fan, paper cutting, sparkling firework flower

At the Summer Cultural Workshop hosted on May 23rd at the Bellevue Botanical Garden, families enjoyed:
- Story-telling: Beginning of Summer, Grain Buds, Grain in Ear, Summer Solstice, Minor Heat, and Major Heat of the Chinese 24 Solar Terms
- Dian Cha: Song Dynasty tea whisking experience
- Chinese Floral Art: Traditional Chinese floral arrangement
- Meditation: Forest bathing in nature while cultivating self-awareness and inner stability

At the Fall Seminar to be hosted on September 12th at the LMC office, families will enjoy:
- Story-telling: Beginning of Autumn, End of Heat, White Dew, Autumnal Equinox, Cold Dew, and Frost’s Descent of the Chinese 24 Solar Terms
- Seminar: Special guest speakers will explore strategies for fostering healthy and positive parent-child relationships in families with teenager.
At the Winter Cultural Gala to be hosted on December 5th at the Bellevue City Hall, families will enjoy:
- Story-telling: Beginning of Winter, Minor Snow, Major Snow, Winter Solstice, Minor Cold, and Major Cold of the 24 Solar Terms
